THE TEQUILA! GTX offers a new level of innovation for recreational kayaks. Created by award-winning designer & engineer Magnus de Brito, Point 65 launches the Tequila! A fun, versatile and high-performance kayak that, due to its modularity, is exceptionally easy to carry, store, and haul. The revolutionary solo or tandem combination is the solution you were waiting for. The Point 65 Snap-TAP technologies are protected under US and European patents.

PERFORMANCE KAYAKING With its new tracking keel the Tequila! GTX paddles straight as an arrow. With Point 65 ́s innovative patented Snap-Tap solution, the single-seater snaps apart and re-assembles in seconds for a kayak that is safe, stable, and strong making it by far the most lightweight kayak on the market. The Tequila! is a rigid high-performance kayak that you can carry with a smile on your face, put inside most cars, and store under your bed.

ULTIMATE SEAT COMFORT The Tequila! GTX is equipped with a super- comfortable AIR seat. The AIR seat, with a pneumatically adjustable backrest, gives the paddler an extremely comfortable and perfectly adjustable seating position. The seat covers are made of highly durable and comfortable, honey-comb patterned material in combination with mesh-like fabric which is laminated and molded over EVA foam.

Popular Science, one of the worlds largest publications awarded the Tequila! with its prestigious "Best of What's New 2010" Award. ISPO - the biggest sports product show in the world - awarded the Tequila! with "ISPO Brandnew" finalist award. The Tequila! has also received the renowned design award Red Dot.

SOLO OR TANDEM - ALL IN ONE The Tequila! GTX is designed with both kids and adults in mind. Whether paddling, fishing or just relaxing, this stable, strong and high- performance kayak is the ideal choice for family fun on the water. Get the extra midsection and there will be no need to buy two kayaks. Snap in the mid-section and your single seater is transformed into a high-performance tandem, so you can bring a friend. The record so far? LL. Bean put together a 100-man kayak using the Point 65 Tequila! for their 100-year anniversary event. Never before has a kayak been so much fun and so easy to own. In fact, the only thing you’ll need to worry about is deciding whom to bring.

GET IN AND GO Carrying and hauling, going solo or tandem - the Tequila! GTX has innovative features to keep everyone smiling. So easy to set up and go, you’ll be having a blast right off the beach.

    Amazing products

6 years ago, when a friend asked me, if they can bring a kayak on our sailing trip, I was not expecting to travel from Bulgaria to Sicily and have it stored in the back of the van, and than just keep it tied on the deck. It was the original Tequila and I was so impressed with this innovative design.

The year after I bough my Tequila GTX and now I can safely say it is one of the best purchases in my life.

Aside from the modular concept the kayak is very stable. I live on the sea coast and even when waves raise up to 0.5 meters I do not feel any danger to ride it, no matter if they hit me side ways or frontal. It is not that fast as other, more standard models, and it is somewhat hard to keep it going in a straight direction at sea, but for recreational purpose and small trips it is not a problem.
The longest distance I managed to do in a day is about 16km with an average speed of 5-6km/h and it was very satisfying crossing the sea from home to the nearest beach, without warring I need to get back home at any cost, because I can always call my wife to pick me up and put in the trunk of the car. And the GTX seat is comfortable enough for a long trip, or to just pick a sandwich, paddle to far enough point from the cost, take a a snack and lie down enjoy the sun.

The only thing I feel sorry about, is that I bough the Solo version, and not the Tandem to enjoy the ride with friends. From what it looks like, the model is discontinued and I doubt I will ever find a middle part to upgrade.

And the only minor downside I found is that the kayak is hard to grapple to carry around, when assembled together. It so lightweight, I do not have a problem carrying it around for kilometers, if only there was out of the box strap attachment or a more convenient hole placement on the bottom side to better put my fingers in.

    Great purchase

Arrived on time and it’s worth the purchase.

John was great in organising my purchase offline as the colour I had wanted was not yet available.
    Thanks John.

    This is our kayak

I have been enjoying this kayak for 3 years now. It is easy to store in our shed. We could not fit it in our SUV (X1), so needed to purchase a roof rack - a K-guard works great. I have transported it for hundreds of miles with it, the only downside is the increased fuel consumption, but you can drive on the highway top speed no problem. Also be mindful of your height, as it gets up to 2.2 m with the middle part on top (you put the solo on the rack first, secure with the ropes, then the middle section on top, secure with other ropes and ready in 15 mins). I have never actually used it solo so far, only tandem. It is a bit tricky to paddle tandem, as it tends not to keep straight line easily, but once the paddlers become aware of its movement and how it reacts to their paddling, and work as a team, it works great and is quite fast. We have paddled most of the lakes in Lake District in the UK, some of them a few times, UK canals and slow moving rivers, and lakes in Wales, as well as at sea in Northwestern Scotland and Cornwall. It is stable and sturdy. Small waves and wind up to 15 mph no problem, also use it for sea fishing. The only modifications I have done to it was to install handles. Use C-Tug Sandtrakz Kayak Cart to transport, if the distance from the car it too long. Otherwise work on my fitness, as it is a bit heavy. No probs with it so far, very happy with it. Most of our videos on Youtube are with it, check if you are innetrested:

    Tequila GTX Solo/Tandem

Kayak ordered direct from Point 65 after a number of very useful email exchanges. Delivery was a little later than anticipated but it turned up safe and sound in three separate boxes. First outing was more to find out how well it transported and went together once at the waters edge. The three sections are not surprisingly quite bulky and therefore you require a large estate or suv. The kayak is easy to put together and take apart. Once on the water as a tandem it is very stable and paddles well. As a solo it is very responsive and very stable. I anticipate many years of fun.

Order placed on 25th Sept 20.
Dispatch Notified on 02 Oct 20
    Arrived 09 Oct 20

Given the above no real issues with time scales seeing the product was coming from Sweden during difficult times.

Packaging was generally good although the short edge of one box had failed, no damage the the Kayak sustained though.

As mentioned above the Kayak arrived on the morning of 9th Oct 20, following unpacking and a trial at putting it together which was very quick and very simple myself and my partner took it to Rudyard Lake for its first outing.

The weather was blustery, cool with intermittent rain and hail, the lake at times became relatively choppy but nothing to onerous. The Kayak again went together easily, launched easily and tracked very well considering the blustery and choppy conditions. We where both suitably kitted so remained warm and thoroughly enjoyed our first use of the Tequila GTX in Tandem form

Highly recommended although i believe you do need to take care to understand you car is large enough to take all three section for Tandem use. In my case i was ok but do have a relatively large 4x4
